BMW's recent dominance in WorldSBK, with back-to-back titles, has only fueled the speculation. Oliveira, who will be riding for BMW in WorldSBK this season alongside Danilo Petrucci, believes a MotoGP move is a "natural step" for the German manufacturer.
"They've been in the WorldSBK championship for over a decade, so they're well-established and one of the strongest manufacturers," Oliveira said. "It would make sense for them to take the next step, but it's not my place to speak on their behalf. I'd love to see it happen, though!"
The 2027 Puzzle: MotoGP's Technical Revolution
As MotoGP prepares for a significant technical overhaul in 2027, including a switch to Pirelli tires, BMW's absence from the grid would be notable. Oliveira, who will gain experience with Pirelli in WorldSBK this year, believes BMW's expertise could be a valuable asset in the premier class.
