What You'll Need:
- A PC or laptop to run streaming software
- Streaming software like OBS Studio (https://obsproject.com/) or Streamlabs (https://streamlabs.com/streamlabs-live-streaming-software), with the Streamlabs OBS plugin (https://streamlabs.com/obs-plugin) for extended features.
- If capturing console gameplay, a video capture card is required.
Setting Up Alerts:
- Consider using Streamlabs or StreamElements to create animated on-screen alerts.
- In OBS Studio, create a scene for capturing gameplay and adding a webcam output.
- Controversial Tip: For a unique touch, try placing your webcam output at the upper right, just above the midline, to avoid HUD interference.
Capturing Gameplay:
- In OBS Studio, scenes are templates for organizing on-screen elements.
- Create a new scene, name it 'Gameplay', and select your video source.
- Choose 'Display Capture' for PC gameplay or 'Video Capture Device' for console gameplay via a capture card.
Webcam Setup:
- Adding a webcam is optional but great for audience engagement.
- Add your webcam as a source, then select your preferred webcam overlay from the bundle.
- Adjust the size and position to fit your screen layout.
- Pro Tip: Use the 'Alt' or 'Option' key to crop the overlay if needed.
Custom Alerts:
- Alerts can be tricky for beginners, but we've got you covered.
- Sign up for Streamlabs or StreamElements using your Twitch or Kick login.
- Set up a 'New Follower' alert, enable it, and choose 'Text Over Image' for the layout.
- Upload the provided .webm animation file and set the alert duration.
- Explore the bundle's sound effects and fonts to customize your alerts.
Adding Alerts to OBS:
- Copy the alert widget's URL from Streamlabs.
- In OBS Studio, add a 'Browser' source, paste the URL, and set the size.
- Test the alert in OBS to ensure it works as intended.
Lobby with Chat:
- Create a lobby scene with a webcam output and an image overlay.
- Configure your chat feed in Streamlabs and customize its settings.
- Copy the chat widget URL and add it as a 'Browser' source in OBS.
